To Access K-GIS Spatial Layer published as map service :
GIS services are automated geographic information services that are published and accessed over the Internet using standard technologies and protocols. It gives you the opportunity to add external spatial information to your GIS-project. One important GIS server which you could use as a background source for your GIS-project as Web Map Services (WMS). We will add a Web Map Service to the ArcGIS.

  1. Open ArcGIS window as shown in figure
  2. Open the ArcCatalog window and click on GIS Servers -> Add WMSServer as shown in the figure
  3. After click on the next button in the wizard. User has to enter the KGIS service in Service URL text box and click on Finish as shown in the figure
  4. Once the wizard is completed the user can view the list of layers and can add as layer and superimpose on the existing layer as shown in the figure
Q-GIS

Add external GIS server (WMS) :

  1. You can find the WMS Manager in the upper menu bar of the QGIS Browser. When you open the WMS manager, a window called: Add Layer(s) from a WM(T)S Server will appear
  2. We want to add a web map service with the information. Therefor we search for WMS services with the keyword. First we have to open the Sever Search Tab. If we search for this keyword, a list of possible WMS services will appear in the window.
  3. Please Add the user defined Project Name and add the WMS Layer as shown in figure
  4. Click on Add Layer and user can view the selected layer as shown in figure

The Software developer can embedd these web service URL's in their web application by including the JavaScript (.js) file.
Attached "Map.txt" Map.txt file can be renamed as "Map.js" and can be used in the solution explorer file of developed application.

The K-GIS generic viewer can be accessed through the iframe div in asp.net.

  1. User has to navigate to K-GIS Layers Section
  2. Type the Layers / Department name / Boundary name in the search textbox as shown in the figure. The filtered results are displayed and user can export to PDF / EXCEL / Print options as search results.

The layers pertaining to concerned department are the owners of spatial data. However KSRSAC deserves the right to contain and update the data as per department approval.

  1. Yes. You can download the data from K-GIS Portal from Downloads Section
  2. Spatial layers like Admin, Parliament, Assembly boundaries can be downloaded as PDF, Shape, KML formats.
    For more such spatial layers like LULC,Drainage network, Transport network, Soil Maps etc. can be downloaded from KSRSAC website.

Yes.The developer can embedd the Web API service into their application.

Yes. If it is related to Government mode mission projects and related to spatial applications it can be hosted.
Note : This process involves prior code review vulnerability assessment, and administrative approvals.

  2. Click on Statistics button to view the statistics of all the spatial data of various department available with us.

  1. Candidates interested in pursuing the career with KSRSAC are requested to continuously visit the website for checking the updated vacant positions.
  2. The CV’s from eligible candidates shall be received only through this website and shall be evaluated and continued with the process of shortlisiting, evaluation and recruitment through the selection committee.
  3. Applications need to be applied online here. Shortlisted eligible candidates only will be called for interview. The advertisement with details regarding positions, qualification, experience, age limit, job requirements, terms and conditions is provided in Annexure, and application to be submitted through centre’s website.

  1. Candidates interested in training are requested to visit the KSRSAC website for checking the available list of trainings provided by KSRSAC .
  2. The candidate has to fill the application form and wait for the response mail from HR team.
  3. The training shall be conducted for eligible, shortlisted candidates either online or classroom training method based on their selection.The process of shortlisiting will be done through the selection committee.

The GIS platform used in K-GIS architecture Arcgis and Geoserver latest editions.

The spatial database and non-spatial database used in K-GIS architecture are MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle.
